| In July 2017 I once again spent time with my very dear friends, the Sisters of Mary Queen of Peace, Buon ma Thuot. I have been visiting there every few years since my first introduction in 1999. During that first visit I spent time with Sr Bau and Sr Kim Hoa Ha in Phuc Long was touched by their commitment and devotion This year I spent an afternoon with the children at the Binh Minh School in BMT and enjoyed reconnecting with them. Once again I experiencied the loving care provided to these children. I was fortunate to visit the new Binh Minh School in Dong Xoai. The School has been specifically built for children living with autism. It contains airy, colourful classrooms, a bright, contemporary therapy room and is adjacent to a well-established pre-school. This building was made possible by contributions from the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn and other benefactors. The therapy equipment and furniture has been purchased from contributions made by Corpus Christi Parish in South Tuggeranong and St Bernard’s Parish in Batemans Bay. The therapists are dynamic young women who, in the short time the Centre has been functioning have produced some splendid outcomes. The therapy is very much child-centred and strength based with several young children already progressing to the main stream pre-school If, whilst travelling you are able to factor in a visit either Centre or are able to provide clinical expertise, please contact Sr. Kim Hoa Ha on [email protected] edit. |
